Mykhailo Mudryk Available Immediately — Doping Case Resolved

Mykhailo Mudryk is finally available for selection with immediate effect, bringing an end to an absence stretching back to November 2024 — almost two full years out of competitive football.

The FA and WADA have officially resolved the Ukrainian winger’s anti‑doping case, ruling his period of ineligibility equal to the time he has already served. That means the 25‑year‑old is now fully free to play for Chelsea again.

Mudryk tested positive for a low concentration of meldonium in late 2024 and was provisionally suspended after his last appearance — a Conference League outing against Heidenheim on 28 November 2024. The case was resolved after updates to WADA guidelines showed that at the levels found, the substance would no longer trigger a violation under current rules.

Key details:

  • 📍 Position: Left Winger / Forward
  • 📅 Last game: 28 November 2024
  • ⏳ Absence: 20 months / nearly two years
  • 🧾 Status: Cleared to play immediately — eligible for Premier League, cups and European football
  • 📝 Fee paid: £88m from Shakhtar Donetsk (Jan 2023)
  • 📄 Contract: Runs until June 2031

Chelsea confirmed: “This has been an extremely difficult period for Misha. We are pleased the matter is concluded and he can return to football. Our focus now is supporting his reintegration back into the squad.”

Mudryk added: “After a long battle I am free to resume my career. This has been the hardest time of my career — I have never knowingly taken anything prohibited. I just want to play football again.”

He is set to link up with the squad as soon as possible and will be managed back to full match fitness over the coming weeks.
