Liverpool have moved into pole position in the race to sign 18-year-old PSG right winger/forward Ibrahim Mbaye, reports from Football Insider and CaughtOffside confirm. The rapid, direct attacker wants regular first-team minutes and has grown frustrated by limited opportunities amid PSG’s strong attacking depth, making a summer exit likely.
Mbaye – who represents Senegal internationally after coming through the PSG academy – is said to favour joining Liverpool and working under new boss Andoni Iraola, with sources noting he “likes the LFC project”. The Reds have opened contact with his agent Jorge Mendes, competing with clubs including Bayer Leverkusen, Tottenham, Man City and Borussia Dortmund. PSG value him around £43 million / €50 million as they weigh up selling to let him develop elsewhere.
Liverpool see him as ideal pacey wide attacking depth to strengthen their right wing options, with hopes of potentially pursuing both Mbaye and PSG teammate Bradley Barcola this window. While talks are advancing and Liverpool lead the pack, no official bid or completed deal is in place yet
