Zinedine Zidane has been officially unveiled as the new head coach of France, signing a four‑year contract running until June 2030 – ending years of speculation and confirming the only job he ever wanted. No transfer fee or compensation is involved: he has been out of management since leaving Real Madrid in 2021 and joins the French FA on a direct appointment.
At today’s press conference, Zidane said clearly: “I turned down offers from many clubs over the last four or five years – because I only wanted this job. There is nothing greater than the France national team.” He rejected approaches from Manchester United, Chelsea, PSG, Juventus and others, holding out for the chance to lead his country.
