CHELSEA have agreed a £58m deal to sign Romeo Lavia from Southampton.
The deal comes just a day after the Blues completed the £115m British record signing of Moises Caicedo.
The Blues will pay the Championship side £53million with the potential for another £5m in add-ons.
The midfielder was also wanted by Arsenal earlier in the window as well as Liverpool.
However, just like with Caicedo, the Blues have swooped in and snatched the player from the Reds’ grasp.
Chelsea now need to agree personal terms with the player and have him complete a medical with the announcement expected this week.
Lavia, 19, only joined Southampton last summer from Manchester City but went on to be a shining light in the side that suffered relegation from the Premier League.
The Cityzens will receive 20 per cent from the sale due to a sell-on clause in his deal with the South Coast side.
Meanwhile, the Blues have reportedly also agreed a deal to sign Crystal Palace star Michael Olise.
It has been claimed that they have activated the £35million release clause in his contract at Selhurst Park.

Lavia will undergo medical tests this week, just informed by clubs that the agreement has been reached.
