Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier is allegedly on the brink of signing for Bayern Munich.

After nine years in the first team where he accumulated 361 appearances in all competitions, Dier’s 10th campaign with the North Londoners has not gone as he would have hoped.

The 29-year-old does not feature in the plans of head coach Ange Postecoglou and has been restricted to just 198 minutes of Premier League football.

That is despite Spurs having struggled for strength-in-depth in the area courtesy of the suspension and injuries to Cristian Romero and hamstring issue for Micky van de Ven.

With less than six months remaining on his contract, it is a foregone conclusion that the England international will depart the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium either in January or the summer.

In recent days, it has been well documented that Spurs are attempting to sign Genoa’s Radu Dragusin, although the acquisition of the Romania international appears to be less of a certainty than it had previously seemed.

Dier is already preparing to leave England’s capital to make the switch to the Allianz Arena.

The report alleges that personal terms have been agreed with the Bundesliga giants and a transfer will be completed once Spurs sign a replacement.

Spurs officials are said to be prepared to retain Dier’s services for the remainder of 2023-24 if they unable to sufficiently improve their options over the coming weeks.
