REPORT: CHELSEA WANT TO SIGN TOTTENHAM TARGET IN STRAIGHT-SWAP DEAL FOR PULISIC

talian outlet CMW claim that Chelsea are ready to blow Tottenham out of the water in a move for Roma attacker Nicolo Zaniolo – by offering Jose Mourinho’s side a straight-swap deal including Christian Pulisic.

Tottenham have been strongly linked with Italy international Zaniolo. Reports say Spurs have had a £46million bid rejected, tried to include Ndombele in a player-plus-cash deal, and players have told him to join in a recent friendly.

But talks to meet Roma’s requirements have so far, hit a wall. Roma and sporting director Tiago Pinto are said to be open to his sale, but nothing has materialised as of yet. Now, Chelsea are looking to steal in with a straight swap.

They are ready to use USA international Pulisic in a straight-swap deal. The 23-year-old has spent the last three and a half years at Chelsea, but has only managed 115 appearances. Of those, 43 have come from the bench.

Now in his final two years at Stamford Bridge, Pulisic could entertain an exit. Costing £60million (NY Times), Chelsea could now use Pulisic. It would be a move that sees them elbow Spurs aside for Italy international Zaniolo.

CHELSEA OFFERING PULISIC FOR ZANIOLO: TOTTENHAM LEFT REELING

There is no doubt that Zaniolo is the kind of player that would improve any Premier League side. Whether the attacker starts for Chelsea is another question, but he is a player that can give Chelsea something they are missing.

With Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner leaving the club, bringing in an attacker that can play up front is vital. Zaniolo can do that. Losing Pulisic in the deal opens a gap, but Zaniolo’s versatility would see him cover that.

He is a wonderful player, that has had to grow up quickly after two lengthy knee injuries. But he has overcome them to shine for Roma last season. Having a hand in 17 goals – he scored the winner in the Conference Final. Top signing.
